Maxcess Europe Expands Service and Support into Romania for Rotary Dies and Other Products

Effective 1st of August 2021, Maxcess Europe, a global leader in innovative products and services for web handling applications, announced the expansion of its Maxcess Europe Division, opening a Sales office in Brasov, Romania. The new Maxcess facility offers a regional high-quality RotoMetrics solid rotary die repair and refurbishment center to fulfill the growing demand for fast turnaround solid die tooling repair and re-sharpening services in the region. George Ciobanu, who recently joined Maxcess as Sales Manager Romania, will lead Maxcess initiatives in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova across all the web handling solutions (i.e. cutting, guiding, tension, slitting, winding, and performance rollers) to help customers work better, faster and smarter.

Maxcess South East Europe, is located in a 180 square meter warehouse, equipped with all the tooling needed to service and repair solid rotary dies to the highest quality. Managed by Neil Jones, the experienced team offers an ‘on demand’, full support repair, and refurbishing services for all RotoMetrics solid tools. 

Alexander Haid, General Manager for Maxcess Europe, stated: “We established our Brasov repair and service facility to respond to the need by our growing base of Romanian customers for local, quick turnaround support on their solid rotary tooling. Today we can offer same day repairs in emergency cases as we do in the rest of Europe. Poor quality or damaged dies may cause expensive downtime that can have massive knock-on effects in just-in-time supply chains. The availability of a high-quality repair service and support is a great competitive advantage for our fast-growing customers in the region, becoming a reason for more of them to choose Maxcess’ RotoMetrics dies for their applications.” 

The service workshop has more than exceeded expectations’ according to associates and customers, and prides itself on its same day turnaround. “We have some customers who bring their dies to us and wait while we service them – that’s how well set up we are here by combining the best of RotoMetrics’ service and Maxcess’ scale,” commented Neil Jones, who added, “for urgent needs, we are now able to turn a job in 3 – 4 hours, which is crucial for keeping expensive production lines running at peak performance.” 

Local repair service ensures direct customer support 
The process of solid rotary die refurbishment at the workshop is one of measured control. Each die that arrives receives an initial quality check evaluation and its specification is recorded. If it is damaged and requires arc welding, this is carried out at the same workstation. The die then passes to the grinding station, where the TIR (True Indicator Reading) is checked. True Indicator Reading measures concentricity and recalibrates data by grinding to remove wear and lost tolerance down to 1 to 2 microns. Bearers, body, and blades are all ground back to original specifications. For final quality inspection, the refurbished die is tested using the customer’s own material. 

Currently serving converters within Romania and neighboring countries, George Ciobanu, says he is confident that the facility will attract work from further afield. “There is so much scope for growth for Maxcess brands in Romania and southeastern Europe in general, with a number of big multi[1]nationals opening manufacturing plants here. They demand the top-quality service and support that we can provide to run their plants at maximum efficiency. We have created capacity that can grow with demand.”
