Membership in AIMCAL
Overview
AIMCAL, the Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators, was formed from an original small group called the Vacuum Metallizers Association (VMA), which began with a handful of companies involved in what was then the fledgling metallizing industry. In recognition of the other web coating processes that impacted vacuum coated substrates, the name and mission was redefined and in 1970 AIMCAL was born. From that day forward, AIMCAL has grown to serve all aspects of the web coating industry.
Membership in AIMCAL is on a Company basis and includes all employees of the company. Membership is on an annual basis, renewed annually. The AIMCAL community continues to grow by maintaining our focus on value to AIMCAL members.
CEMA, the Converting Equipment Manufacturers Association, grew out of a 1984 meeting among nine charter companies to discuss the need for an organization to pursue the collective interests of original equipment manufacturers serving the converting industry. Founded later that year, its "mission was to promote, advance and represent the interests of converting manufacturers in the industry and markets served." In 2002, CEMA merged with AIMCAL
Membership in CEMA, the Converting Equipment Manufacturers Association, is free to AIMCAL members who are OEM manufacturers of converting equipment and accessories. No additional membership dues are required to receive the full benefit of CEMA membership.
