2010 AIMCAL Management Meeting


General Information:

The AIMCAL Management Meeting is a members only meeting that brings together top professionals in the industry for four days of industry presentations and business networking opportunities. The Meeting combines strong industry programming with a relaxed, informal atmosphere for renewing old relationships and making new ones.

David Houle

D

avid Houle is a futurist, advisor and speaker.  He has worked at NBC, CBS and was part of the senior executive team that created and launched MTV, Nickelodeon, VH1 and CNN Headline News.  Houle has won a number of awards.  He won two Emmys as Co-Executive Producer for a nationally syndicated kids program, 'Energy Express'.  He won the prestigious George Foster Peabody award and the Heartland award for 'Hank Aaron: Chasing the Dream' and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Houle is consistently ranked as one of the top futurists and futurist keynote speakers on the major search engines. He has keynoted numerous conferences both across the country and internationally.  He recently won a speaker of the year award from Vistage International, the leading organization of CEOs in the world.  He is often called 'the CEOs' Futurist' having spoken to or advised 800+ CEOs and business owners in the past two years.

He writes the highly regarded futurist blog, www.evolutionshift.com, with the tag line 'A Future Look At Today'.   He publishes a free monthly newsletter and the highly acclaimed semi-annual Shift Age Trend Report.  Both are available at www.davidhoule.com .    He has been speaking about the future for a number of years and his first book 'The Shift Age' was published in 2008.

"The Shift Age" - Keynote Address, Monday, March 22

This is Houle's signature and most requested speech.  He identifies and explains the new age we have entered. After taking a quick look back at the span of human history, he focuses in on the past 20 years and the transformative changes that have taken place. He then identifies the dynamics that are shaping our world now and will be for the next 10-20 years.  The Shift Age will be one of the most transformative and exciting times in the history of humanity. Houle leaves us with suggestions for how to prepare for and adapt to this new age.  A big picture speech that is pertinent for any group or organization.

A look at the trends that are and will be affecting and changing our world until the year 2020.  Looking at the areas of technology, the work place, economics and energy, this presentation highlights some of the developments and incredible coming innovations that will alter our lives. Houle identifies the primary transformations humanity will face in the 2010-2020 decade.  Finally he presents and discusses the timeline for economic and political reorganization that are ahead.  A thought provoking and mind expanding presentation that will put into context all the disruptions and transformations we are experiencing.

Technology Futurist, Angel Investor, Speaker, Writer, Industrial Automation Commentator, Analyst & Consultant Jim Pinto brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.

Formerly President and CEO of Action Instruments based in San Diego, CA. USA.  Jim Pinto is an Electronics Engineer by background. He was born in Bangalore, India, lived in England for 8 years, where he founded KPE Controls. He moved to the U.S. in 1968, worked for Burroughs Corporation, and then founded Action Instruments in 1972.

Jim has traveled widely and has significant experience in the comparative study of American, European and Japanese Business cultures. He serves as an international consultant in strategic business planning, marketing, sales channel development, technology planning and acquisition strategy. He is a Member of the Association of Professional Futurists and the World Future Society.

Jim is the author of two popular books: "Automation Unplugged" and "Pinto's Points". Both are available on Amazon.com and other booksellers.

Jim Pinto is a dynamic, accomplished and motivating speaker. He has addressed audiences ranging from 50 to 1,000 people, at business seminars, marketing & sales meetings, international conferences and exhibitions.

- Spouse/Guest Event - Easy Hike in Torrey Pines State Park - Meet in the lobby and take the easy hike in Torrey Pines State Park.  Enjoy the views and wildlife while enjoying a beautiful California morning.  It's all downhill and those wishing to ride back can catch the hotel shuttle while those more adventurous will have a nice morning work-out back up hill.

12:30 PM Tee Times Modified Shotgun Start - South Course: Don't miss the Tuesday, March 23rd Scramble Golf Tournament.  It will begin at 12:30, immediately following the morning session, at the South Course of the Torrey Pines Golf Course.  Lunch will be a box lunch that can be picked up in the meeting foyer before golf.  Golf club rentals are available. If you have not already reserved your place, you must do so now!  Space is limited!  Final teams will be posted on Tuesday morning.  Cost for:  Golf - $260/per player / Club Rental - $65

A Behind the Scenes Look at the San Diego Zoo - (Optional Event: cost $105 per person):

1 1/2 Hour VIP Tour and More 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM - Take a behind the scenes VIP tour of the zoo.  Grab your box lunch and board the motor coach to head to the World Famous San Diego Zoo.  Once at the zoo you will be escorted to a private 'zoo bus' just for the AIMCAL group for a special VIP tour where you will learn about the history of the zoo as well as some ground breaking advances in animal care.  You will see 'behind the scenes' sights such as the Polar Bear Plunge, the African Plains, Cat Canyon and more...More

All AIMCAL functions are resort casual.
Jackets are welcomed at Sunday night's Award Dinner, but ties are optional.

AIMCAL Meetings and events are for the benefit of industry professionals who have paid necessary meeting registration fees. Guests of registered attendees, over the age of 18, are welcome to attend and participate in AIMCAL events, provided they are registered and required fees are paid. Occasionally, AIMCAL offers optional fee based excursion activities, outside of the meeting registration fees. These activities are the only AIMCAL events during which a non-registered guest may participate, provided they are accompanied by a registered attendee.

Children
AIMCAL recognizes that for many reasons attendees bring families, including children, to the location of an AIMCAL meeting. Due to the nature of the meetings, children are not encouraged to attend AIMCAL meetings and meal functions. AIMCAL will make every effort to provide contact information for those responsible for children's activities at the site of the AIMCAL function. Children's programs, if available, will be the responsibility of the attendee.
